Kaufman County Cats, Inc.
Our Mission
To offer a helping hand to cats in need of rescue, provide them with food, love, and medical care, and house them safely until an appropriate forever home is found. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue.
Our "Facilities"
Since we do not have a shelter, we rely on generously donated space at T-Bar-T Farm Supply in Kaufman, at Petsmart in Tyler and on a network of volunteer foster homes to care for the cats until adopted. Our cats include strays and cats/kittens from other shelters that would have otherwise been euthanized. It also means that we don’t have a “walk-in,” public facility. However, don’t let that stop you! We are happy to meet with you at one of our adoption locations, or if you find a kitty on our website who you’d like to meet, we can make a special time to meet with you one-on-one.
About Us
Our founders have spent years rescuing and volunteering with local animal shelters. During this time, we became aware of the dire situation with Kaufman County Animal Control where many animals picked up were most certainly facing euthanasia at the local animal shelter. In 2015 we were able to become a "No Kill" 501(c)(3) Rescue and provide another outlet to find loving forever homes for the stray/abandoned cats in Kaufman County.
